Making art accessible



A pioneering partnership has been awarded funding to make the arts available to people whose physical disabilities may have prevented them from engaging with it in the past. The project aims to use innovative digital technology to take art into community.

A pioneering partnership has been awarded funding to make the arts available to people whose physical disabilities may have prevented them from engaging with it in the past. The project aims to use innovative digital technology to take art into community venues and even people's homes.

360 Degrees - A New Angle on Access brings together artist Sue Austin with SERIO and ICCI as well as Eye Mirror and Living Options Devon. The project, funded by NESTA, Arts Council England the Arts and Humanities Research council has been awarded almost £125,000 in funding as part of its digital R+ D fund.

SERIO will be undertaking research to help evaluate and understand the impact of inclusive arts, particularly the impact of audience engagement in the home and community, and the findings will be openly shared to inform other arts organisations' digital strategies and create potential for more inclusive arts. The research will involve interviewing people at home, at art events and in workshops to gain some understanding of experiences and perceptions.



Social Enterprise in a global context: the role of Higher Education InstitutesThe British Council has commissioned SERIO, and colleagues in Futures Entrepreneurial Centre, at Plymouth University to undertake a global study to inform Social Enterprise policy.
SERIO to conduct an evaluation of SkillsPlannerOver the next two years SERIO will be evaluating an exciting new Ethos-led initiative 'SkillsPlanner' which aims to solve skills shortages in the construction industry.
