In 2009 SERIO were commissioned to evaluate the communications strategy of a partnership of universities and colleges in Devon and Cornwall.

Combined Universities in Cornwall (CUC) is a partnership of universities and colleges in the far South West which provides higher education to advance local businesses and communities.

 CUC were using a segmented communications strategy, aimed at five key groups in Cornwall: the public, businesses, business support partners, schools and colleges, and key decision makers.

 Looking at awareness and perceptions of CUC, and higher education in Cornwall more broadly, the study used a range of research methods including a street survey, online questionnaire and in-depth interviews.
