Pamela Varley

Pamela joined SERIO in October 2016 as a Research Manager. She has a strong background in research design, methodology and analysis; skills gleaned over the years within analytical, research and strategic roles. Pamela enjoys working across a wide range of thematic areas, with a particular inclination towards community-based research. She is currently managing an evaluation of a social accelerator programme that offers intensive support and affordable loan investment for social ventures, and leading on an annual survey of innovation centre business clients.

Pamela holds a Bachelor of Social Science from University College Dublin and an MSc in Social Research Methods from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is currently completing her PhD with Plymouth University; a project which seeks to develop an advanced understanding of the interplay between broadband use, social interaction and the place in which people live, addressing how superfast broadband can be harnessed as a community asset and, hence, used for positive social transformation.
