Plymouth Sector Skills Audit

The Plymouth Employment and Skills Board contracted SERIO to carry out an in-depth analysis of the employment and skills needs of businesses in the city's six priority sectors.

The priority sectors, outlined in the city's Local Economic Plan are advanced engineering, business services, creative, marine, healthcare, and tourism and leisure.

A paper survey was sent out to over 2,000 businesses in the Plymouth area, with telephone interviews used to boost response rates. Detailed local intelligence was vital as the available national research provided little information at city-level. The results will be used to help shape local training priorities over the coming years.

Social Enterprise in a global context: the role of Higher Education InstitutesThe British Council has commissioned SERIO, and colleagues in Futures Entrepreneurial Centre, at Plymouth University to undertake a global study to inform Social Enterprise policy.
