Mapping Local Food Webs

In 2009 SERIO were commissioned by the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) to evaluate a project to map local food economies.

Mapping Local Food Webs is part of a larger portfolio of Big Lottery funded projects aimed at encouraging community food enterprise. The project aims to equip communities across England with the tools to understand the links between producers, processors, suppliers and consumers in the local food economy.

The evaluation will examine the value of the mapping tools, as well as looking at the social and economic impact of the process. The research will include the analysis of key monitoring data and case studies of two locations, based on observations, and face-to-face and telephone interviews.
